Helikon-tex Recon Smock is a jacket designed to carry an extensive loadout during reconnaissance operations.
A classic smock for modern reconnaissance and sniper operations
The Recon Smock is a jacket based on the classic design of a military smock. We designed it for users who, during reconnaissance or sniper operations, need to carry extensive front-line gear but don't want to carry a belt-mounted kit.
Duracanvas Heavy – densely woven fabric for field operations
We made this jacket from Duracanvas Heavy. It’s a densely woven fabric with a reinforced structure and enhanced wind resistance. It protects during extended periods in open terrain. It withstands heavy use, even when carrying gear.
You can waterproof Duracanvas Heavy with wax.
An extensive first-line loadout without a battle belt
Pockets on the front, sides, shoulders, and back let you organize your gear in different sections of the jacket. You can carry some of the gear you usually wear on a belt in these pockets. This reduces the need to add additional pouches. Your gear remains close to your body and is less concentrated in one spot.
This solution works well during extended field operations, when changing positions, while on observation duty, and when marching with a backpack and additional gear.
Ventilation during movement and intensive activity
Large underarm ventilation zippers let you increase airflow without unbuttoning the jacket. The main closure combines a zipper with additional snap buttons.
On warmer days, you can unzip the main zipper and fasten the front with just the snap buttons. The jacket still covers your torso but allows for better airflow at the front.
Eleven pockets designed for different types of equipment
In the key pockets, you'll find loops to which you can attach small items using a cord. These will help keep them from getting lost during intense activities.
